Living together has it's pros and cons. While it was nice waking up in the bed next to each other, it was hard to assign on who should make breakfast. So when Kaylen woke up that morning, next to a sleeping Oliver, she had a smile on her face.
Deciding to make him breakfast, seeing as he was worn out from the heavy practice yesterday, she was the first one to get out of bed.
They have officially moved in a few days later, after they have made the appointment to let their parents and Kleo drop by to see the cottage. Suffice to say, they were in awe of how cozy and warm it was, considering it was beside a beach.
When Kaylen trudge down the stairs that morning, and made her way to the kitchen. She took out a frying pan, and a bag of breads, deciding to make toasts.
And so when she used this muggle device called stove, safe to say, the breads were mercilessly burnt that day. And when the smell of burning smoke flood through the kitchen towards upstairs, hitting Oliver's sense of smell. The scot crinkled his nose and groaned as he rolled up the bed, when he saw the bed was empty beside him, he had a clue on who did it.
When Oliver trudge down stairs, down to the kitchen, his guts were right when he saw his girlfriend sheepishly grinning at his entrance, holding a spoon and a bag of breads.
"Love, what are you doing?" he asked groggily, rubbing his still sleepy eyes as he tried his best not to laugh.
"Uhhh, cooking." she replied.
Oliver approached the kitchen counter and looked over the plate of Kaylen's cooking result. There were plenty of burnt toast, all colored in ashed black.
"And what is this supposed to be?" he asked, lifting a very overcooked toast.
"Well, that's supposed to be a toast and - stop looking at me like that - I don't know how to cook, Ollie!" Kaylen groaned. It was true, she never knew how to toast a bread or to cook for that matter. Back at the Hills Manor, they had house elves to do that job for them. Therefore, she had never learned or knew anything about cooking.
"You do know these aren't edible, right?" he snorted and she crossed her arms, selfishly glaring at her totally unhelpful boyfriend.
Oliver laughed at her, and scoop her up the ground, whilst Kaylen let out a squeal. He set her down the kitchen counter, as he pulled his sleeves up the elbows. Kaylen looked at him curiously.
"What are you doing?" she asked and he grinned at her.
"Watch and learn, babe." he said, pecking her cheeks, as she rolled her eyes.
Oliver set the frying pan back on the stove, and turned on the fire in a minimum heat. He picked up the plate of burnt toasts Kaylen had made, and gaze at it for several seconds as if questioning its existence, before he threw it at the trash. Kaylen looked highly offended.
"Hey!! I worked hard for that!" she protested and Oliver looked at her with a teasing smirk.
"If we eat that, we might as well just drink poison." he joked and she pouted. He chuckled at her antics and kissed the corner of her mouth, hoping that would make her feel better from her failed attempt of cooking.
After the pan was slightly heating, Oliver placed five breads on it, letting it harden to toast itself.
When the first one was done Oliver took the toast out, he took a bite of it and nodded in appreciation. He gave Kaylen a kiss, when she saw her sending him a look of awe.
"You're pretty good at this.." she complimented.
"Learnt it from my mum. Hey, maybe she'll teach you too!" Oliver exclaimed and she smack him in the arm, causing a laugh to erupt as she glared at him.
"Real funny, Ollie." she muttered.
"But on a serious note, if you really want to cook, mum would be glad to teach you." he said with a soft sincere tone and her eyes soften, as she played with her hair.
"I'll take my chance." she responded, "Only because I want a receiving end of your teasing." she added, mainly to him and he laughed.
"What? It's fun to see you suck at something for once." he chuckled.
She rolled her eyes, but a grin was playing on her lips, "Shut up."
A few minutes of Oliver's swift cooking abilities and Kaylen intently observing his every move, a plate of well cooked toast was ready.
Kaylen jumped down the counter, as he gently placed the plate down the small dining table.
She sat on one of the chair and took a bite of one of the toast. She grinned at him, and Oliver shake his head with a smile, as he poured a glass of juice for his girlfriend.
And that was the first day of them living together. A chaotic start, but there's more days to come by. More days to be together..

There was this small storage room on the backyard, and Kaylen made a used of that to placed her vials of potions and cauldrons there. And she had decided to make one of the free empty rooms in the cottage her study room.
She had placed her stuff there. Oliver had also placed his brooms right beside the stacks of books, inside Kaylen's new study room.
And when he asked if she saw his broomsticks somewhere in her study room, she had nodded and led him there.
When Kaylen opened the door inside her study room they were met with a mess. Book scattered around, more books on the couch, more books on Kaylen's desk.
Kaylen scrambled on her feet to pick them up. Whilst Oliver step in, chuckling at her frantic state as she tried to pick all her scattered books.
"Sorry." she smiled sheepishly at him, "I have lots of these." she gathered all her books, and stack them on the corner with a sigh.
"Here.." Oliver handed Kaylen, her copy of Romeo and Juliet and she received it with a smile, placing it on the very top of the pile.
"There they are." Kaylen pointed at Oliver's packed of broomsticks on the other corner. She went to get them, and Oliver stood there with raised eyebrows and a thoughtful expression.

Kaylen Hills had one thought that evening when she apparated back to their cottage. She was going to rest in bed until the sun rises. But that's hardly an option.
Being a trainee in potion making is draining, that is another hidden definition of Mr Willton giving her extra work after she was done training for the day. Meaning she had to read some potions book before she go to bed. Another definition of staying up late and pile your brain with knowledge.
And so when she opened the door in the cottage, she was met with silence. Kaylen looked over the clock and it read 9:35, she sighed and hang her coat off, as she closed the door from behind.
Kaylen concluded Oliver was probably asleep upstairs by now, seeing as the scot was in for a heavy practice all day. She walked over the kitchen, thinking of eating some leftovers before going to her study. But she was met with a lovely plate of cookies and a glass of milk.
A note was left with it;
'Please eat before you go and study.
Oliver xx'
She felt her cheeks warm out and her heart throbbed as she read his letter. She smiled and take one cookie, taking a bite of it. She breathed out in satisfaction as she carried the plate and glass to her study room.
Kaylen opened the door and stepped in, placing the plate of cookies and glass of milk down her desk. She looked around, and she never thought, she'd go home with her books being well arranged in pile on a bookcase.
She blinked her eyes, and her mouth hanged agape as she walked towards the bookcase, she crouched down at it, and trailed her finger delicately along the wooden bookcase.
Kaylen chuckled to herself as her lips parted in shock and awe. Oliver just built her a bookcase, after she had told him she had lots of books nowhere to put on.
Her eyes turned glossy. And as she walked out the study room and upstairs. She opened the door on their bedroom, and saw Oliver silently sleeping. His eyes close and his face relaxed.
Kaylen sat down the duvet carefully, not wanting to wake him up as the bed sunk down. She smiled warmly at his features, as she threw some of his brown hair back out of his face.
She caressed his calloused hands, and her heart practically leapt when she saw grazes on his fingers. Grazes he had gained from building her a bookcase. Kaylen leaned in and place a delicate kiss on the scratch.
He stirred for a moment, before going back to his soundless slumber.
She smiled at him, and kissed his forehead.
Kaylen pulled the blanket closer and placed it over his body. She gently stroked his hair, running her fingers along it. She leaned in and observed his features.
"Thank you.." she whispered. "for everything..." she muttered.
She leaned away and smiled at his sleeping expression. The ocean waves outside this evening and the swift wind being the only ones who answered her.
"And I love you.."
Kaylen stood up and walk out the bedroom, carefully sliding the door close, and went back down to her study and read the books Oliver had properly arranged on the bookcase he had also made for her.
