It's been three months since Derek left Beacon Hills. He didn't say bye to anyone. He left his pack without an alpha. Then all of a sudden he's back, but he seems out of character. Stiles automatically assumes he's been cursed, that is until he finds out that he isn't Derek at all, but his twin brother, Gage. Stiles sees Derek with Scott a lot, he has also hung out with Scott and Derek just happens to be there, but truthfully Stiles never liked it when Derek was there, he was dam scary. Stiles never had an interest in Derek, not even a little. Intel one day Derek is practically forced into Stiles life. Derek finds himself in a difficult spot when he mistakenly sleeps with Stiles. The two agree to forget it, but Derek can't. Before long, it's becoming a regular thing. Now, Derek has to deal with the issue of falling even more for Stiles or losing him all together. Stiles never dreamed of waking up next to Derek, but it's now a regular thing. However, he has to keep his emotions in check so Derek doesn't realize how he truly feels all while keeping their 'relationship' a secret from the pack and fighting the new big bad in town.

Things change after Mexico and Derek leaves. Stiles never told him the truth, he didn't think he should; didn't want to force him to stay or feel like he was forcing him to stay. Derek needed to get away, needed to breath and think. But, Derek keeps in contact with him. Just him. And that means something... Right?

Derek is at a convention, no, THE convention. The convention that Alphas meet at twice a year, every year, to pick their omega. Derek is a very well known Alpha. He's strong, has good ancestors, and has gone through lots of omega training. He knows what he's doing and everyone else knows that as well. Derek has came to the convention before, but he just never finds anyone. He's never sure if he wants to either. This time though, this time is different. He sees Stiles standing there, not flaunting himself or acting like he's the shit like every other omega. He's just there, waiting. Stiles is gorgeous, there is no way he can leave this place and not have an Alpha, but that's just the thing. Derek doesn't want him leaving with any Alpha, he wants him to be leaving with himself. He wants Stiles, and he'll do whatever he can to get him.

Stiles is lonely to the point of a literal broken heart and feeling of being incomplete. So he does the one thing he swore was a last resort. In the end, what friendships will be left standing? -Sneak Peak- But the worst of it comes when everyone is gone and Noah cracks open his bedroom door, praying his son isn't stuck in some sort of daze still. He holds Stiles and talks to him, and Stiles actually listens. And after his dad reluctantly leaves his broken child for bed, saying he'll be right down the hall, Stiles just breaks down. Everything is numb, so numb that he can't even reassure his own dad.
