This book takes place right after Legacy, and it's just a continuation of it! Since Unlocked has not come out yet, this is just what I think/ want to happen. This is a Keeper of the Lost Cities fanfic! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sophie has begun having reoccurring nightmares, and Keefe seems to be the only one who can comfort her anymore. But as the dreams keep coming back, the heroes of the Lost Cities begin to suspect that something more sinister than Sophie's subconscious is behind it all. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After Fitz, Sophie thought her unmatchable status would have destroyed any hope of a love life she had. Keefe is different. He's just waiting on Sophie to realize it.

MAYBE ITS BECAUSE YOU NEARLY DIED?" I froze. I turned away, anger bubbling in my veins. "You out of all people should know why I have to do this!" i growled through gritted teeth. He was silent and the more curious side took over. I turned back around to catch a tear slip down his face. "I can't lose you sophie, i've lost everyone. Beginning right after the latest Keepers book Unlocked, Sophie returns home to Find Grady suspiciously sad, but never in her mind could she have imagined why, finally she goes up stairs and reads Keefe's (heartbreaking) letter. Will she go after him or honor his wishes? Spoilers if you haven't read Unlocked. But if you're like me and aching to read the next book I hope this fanfic will help you with the wait. Enjoy! ~~~ She sat frozen, hardly allowing herself to breathe. Keefe was... gone? Shock paralyzed her whole body as her mind processed this thought. "No." Sophie muttered, sure she had to have gotten it wrong. This was all a misunderstanding right? Maybe she'd read it wrong... or maybe it was a joke. Yes. A joke, that's what it had to be. It had to be a joke. Cause this? Keefe leaving? Never seeing him again? If that were true... if this was real... She'd never survive the coming war. ~~~ He was so close.
