Chapter 6

Chaeyoung's POV

Her eyes widen, realisation must have hit her too. She stands up on her feet in lightning speed. I withdraw my arms as fast as I could and take a step backwards,

Boppp!

I felt a stinging pain on my left cheek,

She slapped me.

Everyone gasps,

'What are you? A pervert?' She yells at me,

I touch my left cheek feeling the burning sensation, still in shock I couldn't utter a word.

Her friends come to her seemingly checking if she is ok, they then start to walk away.

Dahyun, Tzuyu and Jungyeon unnie step closer to me

'Chae, are you alright?' They ask,

My senses rush back to me. My God, I just got slapped infront of everyone on the first day of school, how embarrassing! The stinging pain on my cheek is still there, ouch...that hurts, no one has ever slapped me before, I'm feeling a little angry now.

'That was rude! Don't you have any manners?' I says loudly so that she can hear me,

She stops walking and turns around, shooting daggers at me with her eyes. She slowly walks over and stops right infront of me,

'What did you say?' She now looks pissed,

'I said you don't have any manners!' I'm not backing down,

She scoffs 'Look who is talking, you are the one without manners, you don't just touch people anywhere you want!'

I stand my ground 'That just happened accidentally. I saved you from falling onto the floor, you own me a "thank you", and then you slapped me who just saved you, you own me a "sorry" as well. Those are basic manners.'

She glares at me 'Well, dream on, because you aren't getting any of those from me!'

We continue to glare at each other, the air around us is so thick, I can literally feel everyone's eyes are on us. They stay so quiet as well, making the situation more tense.

Seeing the raising tension between Mina and I, her friends and my friends come closer, pulling us apart by our arms.

'Mina, just let it go, come on!' Her friends pull her with them, walking out of the hall way.

'Alright, who's hungry? Let's go to cafeteria?' Jungyeon unnie asks, trying to enlighten up the mood,

On our way to the cafeteria, I can see people are glancing at me, pointing, saying things,

'Who is she? Is she a newbie?'

'What a hottie!'

'Did you see that? She was so cool?'

'How dare she touch my princess Mina!'

'She's in trouble, poor girl!'

It was a mixed reaction from people. I just shrug it off and continue walking.

We are now sitting at a table in the cafeteria, eating our lunch. I mostly just play with my food, what happened earlier has taken my appetite away.

'That was a sneaky move, Chae, I have so much to learn from you' Tzuyu says in a teasing tone,

'What sneaky move?' I ask, not sure what she is talking about,

'You know...that move...with the elegant princess' she answers while doing the cupping thing with her hand.

My face turns red because of the embarrassment 'Yah! that was unintentional! I only focused on not letting her fall, things happened so fast that I didn't even know where my hands are holding ok?!'

They all laugh,

'Yeah, yeah, our Chae is innocent. But because of that incident, you are now the talk of the school' Dahyun joins in,

'Whatever, I just feel so annoyed right now. Why does it has to happen to me on the first day of school?' I huff,

'Everything will be fine, don't worry too much, Chaeyoung ah!' Jungyeon unnie reassures me.

'By the way, Jungyeon unnie, can you tell us more about this princess and her friends?' Dahyun curiously asks,

'So, the elegant princess is Myoui Mina, the only daughter of Myoui and Co. group founder. They are basically the people behind the import process of every single luxury brands of vehicles you can find on the street of South Korea. Yes, she is the only daughter of one of the richest families in this country.'  Jungyeon unnie tells us,

'Wowww!' That's all we could say,

She continues 'her 3 friends are Im Nayeon, Minatozaki Sana and Hirai Momo'

'Let me guess, typical all rich girls friend group?' Tzuyu interups

'No, not really. Sana is also from a rich family, but Momo and Nayeon are from ordinary families just like us. Those 4 became friends from attending the same dance class. They all can dance very well.' Jungyeon unnie answers

'You seem to know a lot about them, Jungyeon unnie' Dahyun says

'I'm a close friend with Nayeon. I sometimes hang out with them too. They are actually very nice!' Jungyeon unnie says while smiling,

I just sit there quietly listening. She notices 'Chaeyoung ah, I think you somehow start off on the wrong foot with Mina today, she is actually a nice girl if you know her better. She might look a little unapproachable at first but once you get through that, she is a great friend.'

'I don't wish to be her friend, I'm ok as long as we don't cross paths often' I'm still bitter about earlier.

'Those four are year 12 students and you are doing many of year 12 subjects. I'm sure you are gonna see Mina very often' Jungyeon unnie says,

I plop my head down on the table 'Great...just what I need.'
