The new kind of kids

Part 4-Sophie

As we split into our teams,  Fitz showed us a tree that was our base, it looked like a willow that was hybridized with a hibiscus tree. We were questing first, Fitz told us the quickest way to the other teams base. It was my job to distract as many people as I could along with Fitz, while Keefe would attempt to touch the base and Marella would go with him but paralleling him. Biana shouted, "READY". And so we set off. 

I ran out a quick but steady pace that I knew that I could keep for a long time. Fitz ran off in a slightly different direction. I saw Tam come around a tree, he hadn't seen me so I purposely snapped a branch, than ran for it. Until I got to a lake, wait Why is there a lake?! The Vacker's had such a large yard, I had gotten lost. Oh well. I just took of skirting the lake until, I Noticed a shadow getting closer and knew it was Tam. I suddenly tripped again. This time Tam caught me again, but called "You're out". I grumbled under my breath about boys. Suddenly I just noticed the lake was close, and pushed him in, before he fall in though, he grabbed my arm and pulled me to.

Suddenly Dex came through the break in the trees surrounding the lake and yelled, "You guys need to see this". Suddenly everyone came walking through a similar spot to see me and Tam sitting in the lake,  and they all burst out laughing, We were both soaking, and slightly freezing. I got up only to slip on a rock and fall down again, splashing both me and more importantly Tam, him getting a mouthful of water. This time he got up and offered me his hand, only for me to be half way up, before slipping, barely managing to stand up. 

Suddenly a particularly cold gust of wind blew, I shivered and Tam put his arm around my shoulders and softly whispered, "Minus well be cold together" He joked.(A/N I just realized I made him Keefe on accident in this situation but it's to fun to change) I realized we weren't fully out of the water yet and pushed him back into the water. He just looked up, mocking being betrayed,  and I smirked at him. 

Biana, probably tired of us, "Okay before Sophie or Tam get hypothermia, why doesn't Fitz take Tam up to his room to change, and Sophie come on we are doing the same thing" She pulled me with all her strength. I followed. When we got to her room, she turned on me and asked, "You like Tam, Don't you?" Suddenly She just abandoned me and went to her closet as I was still blushing when she got back in her room, she got her answer. When we got down stairs, she said, "So I heard something about kissing the closest person you when it is new years officially, for good fortune or something. Why don't we do that?"

Keefe answered for all of us, when he shouted, "Absolutely" . Then we started to play hide and seek, suddenly I heard someone walk near where I was hiding in Biana's closet, it was sort of never-ending, so it was a good place to hide, based on the softness of the steps it was Tam, and he was it. 

Suddenly a timer went off signaling 5 mins till midnight. I wasn't giving my spot. Tam had the same idea about not giving up on the game. He was getting closer to my hiding spot when suddenly we heard a shout "Happy new year" at the same time Tam saw me. It dawned on me about what Biana had said. He came to the same conclusion, based on how red his face suddenly became, it also could be because of how close his face was to mine. 

I said, "We don't have to do the thing Biana said. We could skip it." To which Tam replied, "minus well do it, everyone will think it happened either way." I shrugged and suddenly he kissed me, He seemed to realize what he was doing , and began to pull away, but I pulled him closer, I felt fire works in my spine, and a longing I wasn't fully sure I had. But in that moment, I was fully aware of it. We pulled away from each other. I really didn't want to but we didn't wan to get caught. Suddenly I heard a very high pitched squeal, " OMG, you guys finally kissed, finally, we wondered how long it would last with Sophie being oblivious to Tam's crush. Wait are you guys dating?" Lihn suddenly went quite at this question. We looked at each other and something seemed to pass between us, a sense that it was true. Softly I said "Yes".

A/N: Sorry for the short chapter, but I hope the content makes up for it. Next chapter we will be introduced to Grady's overprotectiveness. And Iggy.
