Some days have passed since that awkward encounter, and everything seems to have settled back to normal.
You and Kageyama have started hanging out outside of practice, and the whole incident with your brother has completely faded from his mind. Tooru still teases you relentlessly about the game, never passing up an opportunity to bring it up. And despite all your protests, he's still trying to convince you to take the setter position and that you change schools to Aoba Johsai. You can't help but wonder if he'll ever give up.
He continues to drive you to school, sometimes picking you up afterward, though on some days you go home with your teammates—even with Kageyama.
You've also started to have more conversations with Kiyoko, and you're happy to have gained a new friend in her. There was one time you hung out before practice, and it was so peaceful just talking to her. She has such a calming presence, and her voice is soothing, making you feel at ease.
"Hey, Y/N," a voice interrupts your thoughts. You stop walking and turn to see Kageyama standing beside you.
"Hey, Kags, what's up?" you ask with a smile.
"Wanna go home together after school?" His voice carries a hint of nervousness, and you can't help but feel a warmth spread through you. You smile even more.
"Of course, see you then." You start walking again, hearing him tell you he'll pick you up at your classroom.
As you continue your way to class, a small smile lingers on your face. You spot Chiyo out of the corner of your eye, and her mischievous smirk doesn't escape your notice. "What?" you ask, a little confused by her expression.
She doesn't stop staring at you, her smirk growing wider. "You and Kageyama, huh?"
Your face flushes slightly at her teasing, and you quickly explain, "We're just friends, nothing more!"
"Yeah, sure," she teases. "I'm gonna pick you up, blah blah!" she sings as she continues walking toward her seat.
You roll your eyes and laugh, feeling slightly embarrassed but amused at the same time. Unfortunately, she sits right beside you, so you know this is only the beginning of her teasing these lessons.
And as expected, she doesn't let up. Throughout the entire lesson, she keeps teasing you, even passing notes back and forth. But at least it's Friday, and the school day is almost over.
You finally make your way out of the classroom, and as you step outside, you spot Kageyama waiting for you, looking a little impatient but still as serious as ever. You glance one last time at Chiyo, a mischievous grin tugging at her lips.
"Have fun~," she says, waving as you leave.
You wave back at her and then look at Kageyama.
"Ready for the training camp?" He asks as the two of you start walking toward the school's exit.
The thought of the training camp makes your excitement bubble up inside. It's something you've never experienced before, so you're curious to see how it will all unfold. After all, you are also the only girl on the team. Thankfully to you Kiyoko is still there, even if she's ,only, the manager. Coach Ukai mentioned that you'd be taking a bus for about 20 minutes, so it can't be that far away.
And with the way your team has been practicing hard all week, you know the camp will be intense. The thought of facing Nekoma in a training match wich is already in two days, fills you with both excitement and nerves. Four days to be exact. You've heard of them before but don't know much, except that they're a formidable team. They also have the nickname The (black) cats.
