March 2020
11 Months Later
Leah POV
It's preseason, and Joe was telling us that we are going to Spain. He said that a change of scenery would be nice, and he wanted some place warm. The winter in London is dull, so he thought that getting away from the weather for a week would be exactly what we needed, but we all know it's because he needs a tan and because he wants tapas.
"Hurry up! Do you really need 50 thousand outfits for a week long trip?" Beth shouts.
"Yeah! I guarantee you Daan is gonna spill something on her. She'll need a few changes of clothes because it'll happen multiple times," I shout back. Now, Jordan and I live with our Arsenal and England teammate Beth Mead, who moved in a few months after Jordan did. Carla is permanently at Bristol, and we only see her at games. I finished packing and headed downstairs.
"You all packed J?"
"Wait the trip is today? I thought it was next week!" She ran upstairs and shouted, "Leah will you help me please?"
I let out a big sigh, her forgetfulness makes my blood boil. "Coming," I sighed and walked upstairs. She left to grabbed her toothbrush and toiletries and I began to grab her outfits. She came back and we started folding clothes. I didn't know what it was, but just the simplicity of that moment, her and me packing for a trip, I just loved it.
"Thank you, Leah," she said, in the sweetest voice. She kissed me on the cheek to show her appreciation and ran off downstairs. Did she just kiss me? I walked by the mirror in the hallway and saw my face beat, beat red. Why was I blushing?
I checked my watch. "Sh!t!" I screamed.
"What Leah?" Daan shouted. Daan was all packed and came by and was going to get in an Uber with us to the airport.
"We have to go!"
"When?" Beth shouted.
"10 minutes ago!" I called the Uber and shouted for Jordan to come downstairs.
We all grabbed our bags and went out the door. Jordan and I spent like half the Uber ride telling Beth and Daan to stop making out. Those two were so in love, it was kind of insane. I don't think I'd ever fall in love like that. But boy was I wrong.
Jordan POV
"Stop making outtttttttt!" I screamed. "You know, Daan, that's not really something I should have to say to my best friends in the back seat of an Uber."
"It's only a matter of time until we'll be saying that to you and Leah," Daan clapped back. We sat in the Uber, joking around, Leah roasting me as usual, and talked about everything we wanted to do in Spain. Joe said that we would be training all of Monday and Tuesday, and on Wednesday morning. We had Wednesday afternoon, Wednesday evening, and all of Thursday off, and I knew that on Wednesday night that sh!t would go down.
We got our boarding passes and headed through security. We saw the rest of the team and began to talk to them all.
"J!" Leah shouted. I could just hear her talk forever and ever. The sweet sound of her voice was like music to my ears. I just wanted her to be mine, us wrapped in each others love until eternity.
"Yes, babe?" Did I just call her babe? Hopefully she didn't hear.
"What kind of coffee do you want?"
"Just a chocolate croissant please!"
"Of course," she says with a wink. It's like when she winked at me on the first day, it just made me feel safe yet also nervous.
"Nobbs!" I turn around.
I sighed. "Yes Beth?"
"Come here. What's going on with you and Leah?"
"How did you know about my crush on her?" I whispered to her and Daan.
"Well, we didn't, we just had our suspicions. But, now we know. Thanks for giving us the tea." I just realized how stupid I was. I went beat red, and I heard a sweet voice shout my name.
"J! Here's your croissant!"
"Thank you," I say. God this woman is perfect. She is so kind, caring and let's be honest, a goddess. I gave her a kiss on the cheek, and her cheeks went red, which made mine go red again. It was kind of awkward, because all I wanted to do was kiss her.
"Jord! I saw that. You looooove her!" Whispered Lisa. Tea on this team spreads wayyyy to quickly. Soon I had Lia Walti and Katie McCabe and Emma Mitchell and even Viv teasing me. The one person I knew wouldn't was Kim, so I went to talk to her. Even Kim, the mom of the team, was making a kissy face at me. I stopped caring, as long as Leah didn't know.
Leah POV
We boarded the plane, and I prepared for a 3-hour flight. I sat in my seat, next to Jordan. She was tired because with all of that energy, she had to run out at some point. As the flight took off, I felt her head lightly settle on my shoulder. That was becoming a normal feeling, one that I loved, the feeling of her against me.
I must've fallen asleep, because I woke up to the sound of Jill screaming, "wake the f*ck up b*tches!" To the entire plane.
We grabbed our bags from the baggage claims and got in the van to the hotel. I knew that this was a trip I'd never ever forget, and years and years in the future I now know why. Jordan is a special person, and I loved her for that. I was so excited for the trip, which was certainly unforgettable.
Jordan POV
The lesson I learned: the little things matter most and showing your love for someone if the greatest gift you can give. Beth taught me that a while ago when she did that for Daan.
A/N: Sry this is bad but there'll be drama in the next chapter. Ik this is trash but hope you like it!
