I'm Going With You

Scott, Bruce, Tony, Steve and JJ arrive in New York in 2012. Their suits disengage and they take in the destruction. The carnage is familiar to Bruce, Tony and Steve but Scott and JJ have never seen this much damage in person before.

"All right, we all have our assignments. Two Stones uptown, one Stone, down. Stay low. Keep an eye on the clock," Steve says.

2012 Hulk passes by them, smashing everything in his way. Bruce puts his hand on his face in embarrassment.

"Holy shit," JJ says in amazement.

Maybe in the past, Steve would have chastised him for cursing but even his language isn't completely clean anymore. Steve looks over at Bruce.

"Feel free to smash a few things along the way," Steve says.

"I think it's gratuitous, but whatever," Bruce says.

Bruce pretends to smash things in a sarcastic way. He tears his shirt off, and walks over to a car. He lightly punches the car, making a small dent, all the while making growling noises. He picks up a motorbike and throws it at a wall, wincing as it hits the wall.

"You don't have a career as an actor, Doc," JJ says.

"Thanks kid," Bruce grumbles.

Bruce soon takes off to go find the time stone while the other four prepare to head to Stark Tower to get the other stones.

"Okay, remind me again why I'm not just teleporting in and grabbing the stones?" JJ asks.

"Because there's too many variables. We don't have contingencies if you try to get the stones and fail. What if you try to get the Tesseract but that causes them to guard the mind Stone more throughly. We have these plans because they are discrete. You are the opposite of discrete, no offense," Tony says.

"Offense," JJ says indignantly.

"Remember your job, Jay. If any of us get caught or seen, you can't let them alert the others. Don't let them reach for their coms," Steve says.

"I know, I know," JJ says.

Scott moves next to Tony and shrinks down. Tony taps his arc reactor and his nano-suit encompasses him.

"That will never not be cool," JJ says.

Tony lifts Scott onto his shoulder and takes off.

"You ready?" Steve asks.

JJ let's out a nervous breathe and nods. He grabs his uncle's arm and teleports them to an alley outside of Stark Tower. Steve leaves immediately to head upstairs to the elevator. JJ is supposed to wait for his uncle on the 14th floor and listen to the coms.

He's backup in case something goes wrong. He knows that they are sidelining him for his safety but he wishes that he was more of a part of the action.

"Got to hustle, Cap. Things look like they're just about wrapped up here," Tony says over the coms.

"Got it. I'm approaching the elevator now," Steve says.

"Uh, Mr. Rogers. I almost forgot that that suit did nothing for your ass," Tony says.

"No one asked you to look, Tony," Steve grumbles.

"I think you look great, Cap. As far as I'm concerned, that's America's ass," Scott says.

JJ can't help but let out a laugh.

"Who are these guys?" Scott asks.

JJ is still waiting in the alley so he doesn't know what they are talking about. He hates being out of the loop. He can't help but be frustrated that they aren't utilizing him.
