Etzia is in an alleyway. A dimly lit alley in an unfamiliar city, debris scattered around. Etzia stands with her arms crossed, eyeing the sky, while Cyd floats beside her, spinning slowly.
---
Cyd
(grinning) Well, well! Welcome to the great unknown! Isn't it exciting?
Etzia
(dryly) Exciting isn't quite the word I'd use. More like... inconvenient.
Cyd
(hovering closer) Inconvenient? Or an opportunity? How often do you get to explore a world that doesn't conform to your neat little plans?
Etzia
(sighs) Plans? You think I have plans? Being trapped here isn't on my agenda.
Cyd
(playfully)Maybe it's time to update that agenda. Look, we could gather intel on thisplace. Figuring out its geography could give you some leverage
Etzia
Leverage? Against what? The walls?
Cyd: (with a wink) Who knows? Maybe the walls have secrets. You could talk to them—though you might just get more silence.
Etzia
We need a way out.
Cyd
(mock serious) A way out? But think of all the knowledge we could gain here! Who knows what... or who we might meet?
Etzia
(shaking her head) Knowledge isn't worth of limiting of getting stuck here forever.
Cyd
(brightening) But at least we'd be stuck together! Isn't that a silver lining?
Etzia:
" If that's your idea of asilver lining, I'm not going to stick around.
I will walk around and see if I can find a place to stay."
Cyd
"And I will help you."
Etzia
"Thanks, but you will attract more attention."
So, you need to stay in my backpack is the only option."
Cyd
(floating cheerfully beside her) Hey, at least it's not boring! Look at those neon signs. They sizzle like circuits under a storm.
"Let's start over there with the white lines on the ground to go to the other side."
Etzia leaves the alleyway and walks the crossroad with the green lights, and suddenly a car approaches and hits her.
[Crash]
The man notices the girl on the ground and leaves the car to see and goes to the direction of the girl if she is fine.
Etzia
"~ What was that?"
A man rushed towards her; he was 6 feet away from her.
Man
"Hey, kid, Are you okay?"
Etzia started to stand up.

Life of a Light
FantasyHey! Just a heads-up-this story might feel a little rushed and has its fair share of plot holes. It's my first time writing something with script-style dialogue and pacing, so I'm still figuring things out. Thanks for giving it a chance! ***********...
